The Indian government has planned to get started with the development of multi-modal logistics parks at near about 35 locations around the country. This logistics park construction has been estimated to include approx 33,000 crore. The Road Transport and Highways Ministry has come up with the idea of this massive logistic parks construction under LEEP [Logistics Efficiency Enhancement Programme].
Adding more to this subject, the National Highway Authority of India signed the MoU [Memorandum of Understanding] with TIDCO [Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd.] in the presence of Nitin Gadkari [Road transport & highways and shipping minister] and M.C.Sampath [Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries] for developing the multimodal logistic park somewhere around State’s Kamarajar port in Ponneri Industrial Node area. On this, Gadkari commented that, “It is an important agreement for the development of an integrated, multi-modal transport infrastructure in the country“.
