Hyderabad’s logistic park dream is now about to take a real shape soon. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has planned to construct near about 12 logistic parks in the city. KT Rama Rao, the municipal administration minister, has laid the logistic parks foundation stone at Mangalpally and Bata Singaram on 4th of October this year. These parks have been planned to be developed under the PPP mode, i.e., the public private partnership mode.
Whereas, the 40-acre Bata Singaram park positioned in Hayatnagar mandal is planned to be increased at a cost of Rs 35 crore. Additionally, the 22-acre Mangalpally park placed at Ibrahimpatnam will escalate at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
The project of Bata Singaram has been presented to the KPC projects, and Ancon Designs have got Mangalpally. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has finalized the tenders and has also signed the agreements with the developers accordingly.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority commissioner T Chiranjee vulu stated that “these logistic parks will turn out to be outfitted within a couple of years. Moreover, all the facilities like dormitories will be accomplished in near about three years duration”.
The contractors will build up logistic parks and will also pay the yearly charter cost to the development authority for almost 33 years other than the development charges. Adding more to this point, the annual lease charges will be boosted by almost 5 percent every year.
On this matter, the officials stated that logistic parks would work as a boon for cargo firms, freight operators, third-party logistic service providers, truck drivers, and warehousing together with parking amenities keeping in view the escalating demand for freight logistics. This plan has also been anticipated in the locations that are on the brink of Outer Ring Road (ORR), particularly for the vehicles that are coming from outer states. At this time, there are no committed logistics parks for the freight service providers in Hyderabad. Moreover, there is just one provisional logistics park positioned at Kukatpally on Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority land.
It has been stated by the HMDA commissioner that these logistic parks are being planned not only with the intention to ease up the traffic blocking in the central part of the city, but also with a motive to make available increased employment opportunities for the citizens.
Rao has directed the officials to discover the land for a minimum of four more logistic parks in the city. He also stated that “Once this plan will get executed and accomplished, the heavy convey vehicles will not enter the city, and the traders will be able to carry the goods and supplies to the desired locations through mini vehicles.”
