- c) Bullet train: It has been all over the news about the first bullet train that has been launched. The bullet train will be moving from Ahmedabad to Mumbai and vice versa and will cover a distance of 534 km in 2 hours. Prior to the bullet train, this distance was covered in around 8 hours.
- d) Refund on tatkal tickets: Recently, a notice was passed where it was made official that on the cancellation of a ticket booked through tatkal, the passenger will get a 50% refund.
- e) More coaches in Rajdhani and Shatabdi: It has also been made official that the coaches of two of the fastest trains in India, i.e. Rajdhani and Shatabdi will go up so that more and more people can travel at a time.

- a) National Highways and Infrastructure Development Cooperation (NHIDCL): NHIDCL, recently made it official that they have been awarded a contract to build tunnels worth Rs.23,000 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
- b) Abertis Infraestructuras: Abertis Infraestructuras, a Spanish firm has signed a contract with the Indian government, wherein, they have agreed to purchase two toll road assets in operation in South India worth Rs.1,000 crore, so as to scale up the road network in India.
- c) National Highways Authority of India (NHAI): NHAI, has made it official to build 50,000 km of roads by the year 2022, as a part of their long-term plan. This has been made keeping in mind their plan of doubling the road network up to 2,00,000 km.
- d) Four-lane roads: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, made it official that the development of 19 km long four-lane roads shall be constructed in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
- e) Road Transport and Highways Ministry: The Road Transport and Highways Ministry have invested around 3.17 trillion US$ in order to construct world class roads and flyovers in the country.

- c) Qatar Airways: Qatar Airways made an investment in the Indian Aviation sector and is now starting India’s first fully owned foreign airline.
- d) UDAN: Indian airline companies like SpiceJet, Air India, Air Deccan, Air Odisha and Turbo Megha have received a right to fly across 128 routes in India. This decision has been made by the Government of India’s regional aviation scheme named UDAN. As per UDAN, passengers will be flying across the country at a 50% rate.
