The trail for e-way bill which was initiated in the entire nation for the duration of 15 days (from 16 January) will end today. With the help of this step, from 1st of Feb, a new e-way bill system will come into effect. Under this recently introduced bill system, all the transporters will require carrying a system-generated bill for transporting goods from one space to another. These e-way bills can be produced through the GSTN portal. The e-way bill system was introduced with the intention of bringing consistency across the states for a flawless inter-state goods movement.
The system was to be executed earlier, but couldn’t be managed as the necessary technical infrastructure was actually not in the position. The past month, goods and service tax Council took a firm decision to execute e-way bill mechanism all through the country from February 1. In an announcement, the goods and service tax network educated the daily transporters that the E-way bill would turn up as the mandatory one for the inter-state goods movements from 1st of February this year. The additional statements were that the countrywide e-way bill system would be willing to be rolled out on a testing base by 16th of January this year.
Further on the trials on e-way bill generation, Prakash Kumar, who is the CEO of Goods and service tax Network, explained the attentiveness and infrastructure capabilities system’s to manage the evolution. The CEO added that e-way bill system is intended to manage near about 50 lakh e-way bills every day.
The goods and service tax network is expecting almost 10 lakh e-way bills for interstate and near about 35-40 lakh e-way bills for intra-state. The software for this lately launched electronic billing scheme has been urbanized by the government’s leading science and technology organization: National Informatics Centre. Whereas the software is owned by goods and service network, it will entirely be managed by NIC (National informatics center).
